FBC Sonora seeks to make Jesus known in a variety of ways.

At the local level, we cooperate with the Lincoln Association of Baptists.  Church members and groups also participate in mission projects like Affordable Christmas, through our partnership with Helping Hand of Hope and community events like G.L.O.W., our annual Fall festival, which is open to all in our community. These are just a few of the ways FBC Sonora and its members are involved in sharing the gospel here in Southern Hardin County.

At the state level, we cooperate with the Kentucky Baptist Convention through prayer, regular giving, and the Eliza Broadus Offering for State Missions.  And we are occasionally involved in mission projects around the Commonwealth.

Nationally, we cooperate with the Southern Baptist Convention to support the efforts of the North American Mission Board through prayer, regular giving, and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.  We also participate in short-term mission trips around the country.

And globally, we support missions through the work of the International Mission Board through prayer, regular giving, and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

We believe we have a responsibility as a church to share with all people the truth of who Jesus is and the love that he has shown toward them. That mission also shapes our ministry to children.

For families within our church, our children's ministries should support the primary faith training that parents are providing on a daily basis, but we also seek to show the love of Christ to children who aren't growing up in a Christ-centered home.

Here is our regular schedule of activities for children...

Sunday School @ 10a.m.

Worship @ 11a.m.

Dinner for the whole family @ 5:30p.m.

G.P.S. - Gospel Project Sonora for children ages 3 through 5th grade from 6:00 to 7:30.

We are a group of students grades 6-12 being transformed by the grace and power of Jesus Christ as we follow him together.  We believe that parents are the primary faith trainers in the lives of their children, and the role of our ministry to students is to reinforce the discipleship happening at home on a daily basis.  So, for our students in Christ-centered homes and those with no biblical background, we want to build relationships where the power of the gospel can be both spoken and seen.

Here are what our weekly programs look like. We hope you'll join us some time!

Sunday School starts every Sunday morning at 10a.m.

G.P.S. is a time of games, worship, and small groups for students, 6:00-7:30p.m.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School classes meet weekly for the purpose of Bible Study and building fellowship. We have classes available for all ages. Most of our classes meet Sunday mornings @ 10a.m., but we also have a class that meets on Wednesday nights @ 6:30.

Prayer Meeting

Prayer Meeting is a time for us to gather and share prayer needs that are on our hearts and minds. Prayer Meeting is every Wednesday night @ 6:30p.m. in the MRC Café.

Keenagers are our senior adult group, who get together about once a month for an outing. We may go out to eat or attend a conference together, but we always have a great time! Check the weekly bulletin for details about our next outing!

At FBC Sonora, the music heard in our worship services is a blend of styles because our congregation is a blend of people from different backgrounds and different generations. What unites us is our passion for worshipping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We regularly sing the classic hymns as well as learn new songs together. Our praise team leads us in worship most of the time, but we also have a choir that rehearses and leads on special occasions. If you'd like to join the choir, then watch the worship guide for the next opportunity.
